About the final project for: Main Title Design: Create Style Frames to Pitch Your Idea

Grungy / Low Fi Style Motion Graphics

“Thank you so much for taking part in this course. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, but mostly that you were able to learn something new, either from a design or production perspective. It's now time to work on your project. This could mean finishing the frames you started by completing the course tasks or making a brand-new project! Either way, I strongly suggest you take the time to gather inspiration and make a unique project of your own. Make sure to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. It'd be great if you could also explain the choices you've made along the way and tell us if you have any doubts. This will help me guide you better if you need advice. Here are the main steps to follow: The Brief First of all, start by understanding and digesting the brief. I recommend writing your own. But, if you do want to use mine, be creative and pursue a different direction.

Inspiration The next step is to collect references and combine them into mood boards in order to come up with an idea, represented by a rough storyboard. Remember that storytelling is crucial. Without a story, a beautiful design – especially for a narrative sequence – has no power.
Production From here, move into the production phase. First, create your 2D assets in Photoshop. You can easily grab stuff online. But if you choose to create your own assets, the final result will end up being more compelling and unique.
From 2D to 3D Open up Cinema 4D, where you will translate your 2D images into 3D objects. Build your main scene and light it according to the concept and tone of your project. As the goal is to create styleframes, remember to be efficient and effective in your process avoiding any unnecessary work.
Different Shots Once your scene is set up, play with cameras and the layout to create different shots. Keep checking both your storyboard and mood boards like a bible, to never lose track of your original idea.
The Final Renders Now that you have your 3D renders, bring them into After Effects and work on compositing them to get the most out of your shots.
Finally, complete your design by adding the typography: both the main title and the individual credits. You can now render out your final frames, check that they work nicely as a sequence, and put together a presentation for your client. Don't forget to share your styleframes in the forum. I'm looking forward to seeing your design, answering your questions, and giving you feedback if necessary. I encourage you to comment on the work of other students too and help out whenever possible, like a good member of a design team. You can upload your course project to social media as well, if you like. But if you do, don't forget to tag Domestika (@domestika) and myself (@_andrea_braga_) so we can see it! Thanks again and see you in the forum!”

“Thank you for taking this Domestika course. Hope you enjoyed it. By now you've seen the style frames allow you to showcase your concept through a series of images in an impactful way. Not only does this streamline your workflow, but this is also the best way to pitch your ideas to clients. Let's take this opportunity to remind ourselves of the key steps. First off, begin by really understanding your brief. While you can use mine, I really encourage you to write and work off your own. This will push you creatively and allow you to follow your own direction. From this, collect references and ...”
