About the final project for: Drawing Journal: Create Fantasy Characters

Drawing Journal: Create Fantasy Characters

“We have now reached the end of the course. Thank you very much for sharing this learning space with me! I hope that you enjoyed it as much as I did, that you learned something new and that now you really want to create more fantastic characters in your drawing journal. Below, I've outlined the essential steps to take to complete your course project. Remember to document the entire work process to be able to see the evolution. My project can serve as inspiration, but it is not about copying it. Rather, I encourage you to experiment and find your own style based on your tastes, interests and references. Choose the theme Choose a theme for your blog. Maybe you want to develop a personal universe with a specific purpose or theme that you want to explore. Browse References Draw some elements of the world you want to create, be it objects, flora or creatures. Also create a board with references if necessary and fill some pages of your notebook with these elements.

Develop the character Think of a protagonist for your world. Make some thumbnails for your main character on a sheet and then develop one or those that you like the most, detailing the sketch a little more.
Give expressiveness Draw some facial and body expressions of this character. Remember to use references if you need to (a model, a mirror, your webcam or mobile camera) and practice varied and exaggerated expressions.
Connect characters Finally, draw some scenes with your main character and a secondary character, for example, a pet, a villain or a companion in adventures. Try to make this new character different from the main one. Draw some situations that explain what happens and what the personality of both figures is like.
When your project is ready, upload it to the forum by clicking on "Create your project". Share both the final pages of your sketchbook and the different phases of your work, adding images with a brief explanation. Finally, I want to encourage you to participate in the forum: comment on the work of your colleagues, contribute ideas and share your progress and doubts. I will also be there as often as possible to give you advice and answer your questions. See you soon! ”
