Eduardo Gómez, better known as Alter Imago, began photographing rock bands in his studio, which propelled his career towards the world of portrait and artistic photography, turning him into an expert in the art of directing models.

In this course you will learn strategies, techniques and tips to direct models and plan the poses of your photographs. Eduardo will share with you a series of tips and tricks to achieve project ideas and feelings through the image.

The first thing you will do is to learn more about Alter Imago's work, discover its influences and tell you what it is that inspires you to take photographs.

Then you will discover the four main methods of directing models in photography and when to apply each of them.

Eduardo will tell you what it really means to be photogenic and he will give you the fundamental keys so that the process of directing a model is agile, fluid and simple.

Once the bases are laid, you will study the anatomy in depth. You will know the types of face and body and analyze the elements that compose them, to learn to identify signs of tension and how to correct them.

Eduardo will give you some advice on angles that you should avoid if you want to get perfect photographs and will tell you about the importance of the costumes to accentuate a harmonious figure.

To finish, you will make a photo shoot to your model, putting into practice what you have learned and experimenting with all kinds of poses and expressions, to obtain the results you want.

Eduardo Gómez (Alter Imago)

Eduardo Gómez Muñoz, known as Alter Imago, has been a professional photographer for 14 years. Although he began as a photographer of rock bands, he has specialized in portrait and artistic photography, digital retouching, photo manipulation and advertising photography.

Since 2015 he regularly publishes on his Youtube channel 'Alter Imago fotografia', where he has 90,000 subscribers and more than 36 million minutes of viewing. He won the silver medal in the World Cup of Photography in Sydney (Australia) in 2018 in the digital illustration category and the Nation Awards in Dublin (Ireland).
