“ The Second Shot: The Collage Now, I'll get the lighting setup ready for the collage shot. The key light I'll use is this Profoto head with a snoot. I might use this octabox as a fill. Here is the black side of the polyboard, but on the other side are two white polyboards. The same on this side and they'll be in a V shape, which will give an even light across the background. I have my camera on the tripod to make sure that the composition is correct. It also means that I can get focus better. In this shot, I'll be starting with the 63 mm lens, but I'll experiment with the 45 mm lens to get...”

Oliver Mayhall is a London-based portrait and art photographer. He first discovered photography while studying at Nottingham University and later traveled around California, Mexico, Cuba, and Columbia to hone his craft. During his travels, he developed an interest in filmmaking and went on to complete a Masters in documentary filmmaking at Goldsmiths. After graduating, Oliver worked as an assistant photographer, learning from fellow creatives in the industry before going on to pursue his passion as a full-time freelancer.
Since then, he’s worked with clients including BAFTA, EMI Records, Crisis, and Cubitts. Oliver also sells his work as limited edition pieces to collectors around the world.
