About the final project for: Terrazzo Home Accessories with Jesmonite Resin

Terrazzo Home Accessories with Jesmonite Resin

“Woah! Congratulations for making it to the end of the course! Now it’s your turn to create your own terrazzo accessories using the knowledge you've learned. During our time together, you have learned about what Jesmonite AC100 is, the history of terrazzo, the importance of finding inspiration outside of your creative field, the basics of colour theory, and the principles of colour mixing.

We've also covered the tools and equipment you need when working with Jesmonite, two processes for creating different terrazzo effects, how to sand, seal and finish your project, and how to work sustainably and dispose of any waste responsibly.
Looking for inspiration within your own discipline can sometimes lead to an echo chamber of ideas. Don’t forget to look for inspiration from other places, creating artwork that is unique to you and demonstrates your own identity as an artist. What shapes, colours, and patterns will you create?
Once you have an idea for your shapes and colours, don’t forget to prepare your workspace.
Jesmonite can set in as little as 20 minutes. Being prepared will reduce some of that stress. It helps to remember that if your project doesn't turn out quite as you expected, you can always reuse everything you have made for another terrazzo project! The wonderful thing about terrazzo is you can continue to upcycle it from one project to the next.
We discussed many ways to be more sustainable in your craft from filtering your water, reusing silicone, upcycling Jesmonite and even buying second-hand equipment. As you continue your journey with Jesmonite, what are some of the ways you can bring sustainability into your craft? Having an open discourse with other creatives is an incredible way to share knowledge and grow as a community. Be sure to visit the forum and share any of your own tips!
I can't tell you how excited I am to see your work and answer any of your questions! Share your final project by clicking on ‘Create your project’ so I can see your progress and provide any feedback. It would be great if you showed a picture of each step and added a brief explanation about what you've done in each one. You can follow some of my projects on Instagram (@heykiddoco).
I will be more than happy to answer any of the questions you might have along the way! I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, participate in the forum, comment on others' work, and interact with the community. See you there!”

“ Final Project A huge congratulations on reaching the end of this course. In this lesson, I'll take the opportunity to recap and share the steps for your creative journey. You'll have seen how easy it is to create your own terrazzo home accessory. As I've mentioned before, there's so much joy in defining colours, creating palettes, and making your own terrazzo chips. You can also continue to upcycle materials or surplus from one project to the next. Remember, the first important step is to find sources of inspiration. Create your own mood board, which will help inform your colour choices f...”
