About the final project for: Drawing and Self-Expression: Tell Your Story

Drawing and Self-Expression: Tell Your Story

“We have reached the end of the course! Thank you very much for accompanying me. I hope my lessons and tips will help you when creating your own zines. Do not forget that each project is unique and that what we saw in this course is a base that you can use with your own style. I share the steps you must follow to carry out and share your project: Create your protagonist Identify the features that define your face and your anatomy to create a drawing that should not necessarily be figurative, but a simple and playful version of you. Add clothes, accessories and details that contribute to your identity and to the drawing of the protagonist of your stories.

Drawing objects, living beings and adding texts Build a repertoire of images by drawing the objects in your room. Then, continue with the people, animals and plants that are part of your life. In this way, you will have elements for your protagonist to interact with. Practice linking your drawings to song lyrics, which are a form of poetry where you can explore moods, scenes, and sequences.
Think of a story to tell Pay attention to your daily conversations, thoughts and actions in your daily life. Be a tourist of your own life and allow yourself to be amazed. Then tell it. Make drawings with dialogues, with phrases that express your emotions and personal journeys. If at first glance you think your life is boring, look a little further and recognize the value of your experiences, not only for what they are, but for how they can be told. Choose one of all your stories for the final project: a narrative in 8 panels.
Put together your zine and draw your story Dig deeper into the zine format and its possibilities. Order your narrative into 8 bullet points and develop a story that moves you or a thought that you can expand on in a sequence. Think of this narrative as a little journey, where your protagonist doesn't end the way he started, but goes through a change and enriches his life experience. Make your narrative an editorial product that you can reproduce.
Share the result Now share your final project with all of us by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result of your project and the steps that have led you to it. It would be great if you could show me an image of each phase and add a brief explanation about what you have done in each one.
Go ahead and share it, first among your family, through ten copies of the zine you made in the course. This is a way to build a bridge between you and the people you love, and you will see that you will receive comments that will nourish your creative search and your vital concerns. Then try sharing your drawings online and use some of my tips to turn social media to your advantage. Instagram is my favorite platform these days and I thought that it could also be useful to you, since it is one of the most used and its interface favors images. As the limit when posting a gallery or carousel is 10 slides and the mini-comic you have made has 8 panels, you will be able to post the complete narration and in order. I also want to invite you to actively participate in the forum, both sharing your progress and asking questions or giving advice and trying to help the rest of the community. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress! I will try to spend as much time as possible on the forum, but please be patient because there will be times when I have professional commitments and it will take me a while to respond. See you in the forum!”

“Final project Thank you so much to arrived to until here. It was super exciting for me to prepare this course and imagine you on the other side accompanying me in each lesson. I hope I have been helpful in addressing your concerns. with drawing and self-knowledge. I think this course is only a starting point. What I want to reiterate is that you embrace the mistake and think above all about enjoyment. It helped me a lot to think about the drawing first as a game before as a profession. Now that I already feel it as a profession, I don't want to forget about that playful component when drawi...”
