About the final project for: Bring humour to your 3D animations in Blender

Bring Humour to Your 3D Animations

“Congratulations! You have finished the course! Thanks again for joining me. I hope everything you have learned has helped you feel more confident in finding your creative voice and given you some tools to help you express it. Before saying goodbye, I will quickly show you an example of how I want to see your project: The Sketch and the Storyboard First things first, find something that inspires you and makes you laugh. Then sketch out any ideas you may have into a storyboard and character designs. Don't worry about how it looks. Make sure you understand it and imagine how the viewer will realise it too.

Model the Characters Open up the Blender and start to play! Use basic shapes to model the worm, then add textures and bones. Try this again, but use a more complicated shape for the seagull.
The Details Add a background so that your characters have some context. Don't overthink this; give them a nice scene to stand-in. Once you have an experience, add some lighting. Play around with how this changes the scene. Don't be afraid to play with the settings and placements until it creates the mood you are looking for. With the lighting done, add a camera. This is a great way to start visualising your project's context. Play with depth of field, and make the scene look soft!
The Animation Now you are all ready for the big part, animating! Don't be afraid and get stuck in. Start with the seagull, then move on to the worm, and switch between the two to help you find your own pace and rhythm with the animation. Finally, model the secret surprise, bring the whole project together and check everything loops. All that's left now is to export the video. This means you will have to render it. Play with your settings to have a render that works for your machine. Besides, if you want, you can quickly convert it to a GIF using Photoshop.
Now, post it! Get yourself online and start getting your work into the big wide world! Share your project by clicking on 'Create your project'! I would love to see what you've created. Remember to share a picture of each step and briefly explain what you have done in each one. I also encourage you to join in the conversation; we can all learn from each other and maybe tell each other a joke or two! I will be giving you feedback as soon as possible, but please be patient. Good luck, and I can't wait to see your projects on the forum! ”

“Congratulations on completing your course. You're ready to make an animation and add humour to it. You did a lot. We spoke about how to make something funny and how to incorporate that into our animations. Remember that with a joke, it's all about setting up a situation, adding some tension and then diverting the viewer's expectations by making something unexpected happen. It's all about surprises and the juxtaposition between the audience's expectations versus what actually happens. You can use the three main elements, story, movement and design, to break down what happens in a joke and th...”
