About the final project for: Contemporary Hyperrealistic Portraiture

Contemporary hyperrealist painting: portray the human figure

“We have reached the end of our course! I hope that through it you have been able to capture the basic elements of painting and the infinite possibilities of creation that we can achieve by working on the details. The interesting thing is that you always focus on the micro, but never forget the macro: work the pores individually, one by one. However, try to step away from the painting from time to time to assimilate how it is working as a whole. Now I would like to invite you to start your course project. Be selective with the reference image you choose, see if it will give you enough visual information to be a guide in painting the details of the face. Organize your workspace and don't be afraid of the blank canvas, you will discover many things during your process, and this will help to create your style and personality. Be patient when creating the texture, it's really a longer process that won't be solved in a few minutes. Take your time and allow yourself to discover how these hours of work bring a more rewarding end result. Below I have gathered some key points for the painting itself: • Choose your reference image. • Treat the canvas and do the grid on it. • Trace the reference image and transfer it to the screen. • Capture the colors using Photoshop's "Eyedropper". • Start applying the paint, paying attention to the lights, midtones, shadows and the vibrancy of colors. • Start applying the medium tones of the pores over the base layer, building an orderly mesh that will then be contoured with darker tones and highlighted with the application of glitters. • Fade out the edges that are too strong with a soft brush, integrating the colors and giving fluidity to the painting. • Pay attention to the process in the other areas of the face of your reference image, in the eyes, nose and mouth. Base Layer > Applying Pore Texture > Fading.

Remember to “bring life” to your work with a title, a small conceptual text and share everything with others. Publish your process and results by clicking the "Create your project" button so that I and the entire community can follow your work. Also comment on community projects, the feedback enriches our experience, as well as being a great networking strategy. I will be attentive to answer questions and give tips about your painting. Get to work! ”

“Final project Thank you for reaching the end of the course. I hope I have offered new possibilities for you to see and learn within the hyperrealism and that you can increase and develop the pictorial possibilities in his painting. The idea is that you maximize your final result, But I can't forget to tell you one last thing: value your process. Take pictures and take notes, tries to show the work to his friends, for you to exchange ideas and talk about the work. It is within the fluidity of this whole process that an artist can find his personality and signature and, little by little, buil...”
