“Finishing Embroidery for Display We've now finished the front of our embroidery. In this lesson, I'm going to show you how to close up the back. First, trim your fabric to about an inch away from the edge of your hoop. Then we'll flip our piece over. Next, I'm going to take a needle and thread and do the running stitch around my fabric. The reason I like to close up the back of my embroidery is because it protects all of your stitches and just adds a nice finish.
