Paper Jewelry-Making with Origami Techniques
“Congratulations! You've reached the end of the course. I hope you enjoyed folding origami on a small scale and learned the main tools to keep exploring new origami jewelry ideas! It's now time to work on your course project. This could mean finishing the origami jewelry set you started by completing the course tasks, or working on the presentation of your project if it's already finished. Practice is key in any technique, so don't be afraid to repeat a step during the course, try out different variations, and be creative. Remember: enjoy the process and don't focus too much on the outcome! Your project should represent your own aesthetic and style. Don't forget to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. It'd be great if you could also explain the choices you've made along the way and share any questions or doubts you've had about the process. To recap, here are the main steps you should follow to create your project: The Mood Board Start planning your design: collect images, textures, color palettes, and sketches and create a mood board using kimono motifs as a guideline. The Pattern Paint your own kimono-inspired pattern on paper with gouache and give it a nice and rich contrast by applying different metallic materials. A pattern is a repeated decorative design, but here, you can create it as freely as possible.
