About the final project for: Ancient ruins concept design

Ancient ruins concept design

“We've reached the end of this course! Thank you for joining me. I do hope you've enjoyed the process and now feel ready to work on your own image. To help you, I will sum up here the main steps you need to follow to complete your project. Make sure to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. It'd be great if you could also explain the choices you've made along the way. This will help me understand your creative process and guide you better if you need advice. The Idea You will create an image with an “Ancient Ruin” theme, but what you do is up to you! Feel free to do something radically different from my idea. The Style Guide This guide will summarize your idea with key words and phrases. You can include images and concepts for the mood and the lighting.

The Sketch Based on the guide you made, you will work on several black-and-white sketches. These don't need to be detailed. The point is to get a general sense of what the image will look like and start thinking about the composition.
The Scene Move on to Blender and build your 3D scene. This will require setting a camera and compositing the scene, adding a character or creature, establishing the lighting and atmosphere, and creating specific hero assets.
The Photobashing and Overpaint Back to Photoshop, you will improve the atmosphere of the scene and the image as a whole using photobashing techniques and overpainting.
Don't forget to finish by adding cinematic effects!
Once you're done, share your image in the forum! You can do so by clicking on "Create your project". I’ll be checking in from time to time to look at your posts and answer your questions, but the forum is also an amazing opportunity to give and receive feedback from fellow creatives. Get involved with your peers! Goodbye!”

“Congratulations on finishing the course. Now you're ready to work on your own project. Before I leave you to it, let me share some tips with you. First, don't rush your black and white sketch. Avoid doodling and try to keep your shapes as clean as possible. Second, try to do more than one sketch. I usually do at least four. That allows me enough sketches to choose from when I want to fixate my idea. Also remember that the more sketches you produce, the better chance you have to find a better idea overall. Third, try to avoid making too big of a change in the middle of the process. Try to lo...”
