About the final project for: Illustration of Hands with Expressive Watercolors

Illustration of Hands with Expressive Watercolors

“We have reached the end of the course! Thank you very much for accompanying me. I hope that my lessons and tips will help you when developing your watercolor illustrations. Do not forget that each project is unique and that what we have seen in this course is a base that you can use with your own style. I share the steps you must follow to carry out and share your project. Search for references To get started, you need to select the image you want to work with. Remember that there are many websites where you can download royalty-free images to use as references.

Choose the color palette Before you begin, make sure you have the right materials and are working in a comfortable space. Then, prepare your color palette with the selected image as a reference.
Going from image to paper Once you have the materials and your color palette, you must take the image you chose and transfer it as a sketch to paper. To carry out this process, you can copy using a grid or trace with the help of a light table. If you dare, you can also sketch freehand!
Start painting Now it's time to grab your brush and watercolors and move on to the next stage! Start with the first layer, or gouache, to give your illustration a base using Nude 1. Then move on to the middle layer to give your hand volume. In this second step, you will need to use the skin color 2 that you prepared.
Add shadows As I taught you during the course, you should always go from the lightest color to the darkest and from the most general to the particular. For this reason, the last thing you should do is add the shadows and finishing touches to your work.
Don't forget to let the watercolor dry between layers and change the brush size as needed. It is also good to move away from your watercolor every so often, to see it in perspective. And most importantly: breathe and have fun!
Now share your final project with all of us by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result of your project and the steps that have led you to it. It would be great if you could show me an image of each phase and add a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. I also want to invite you to actively participate in the forum, sharing your progress as well as asking questions or giving advice and trying to help the rest of the community. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress! I will try to go through the forum as much as possible, but please be patient because there will be times when I have professional commitments and it will take me a while to respond. See you on the forum! ”

“Final project We have reached the end of the course, but first I would like to give you some advice for your work. Remember to paint from lightest to darkest and from the most general to the most particular. Always let dry between coats. This is very important. When you mix colors, always to the lightest add the darkest. Work calmly and take a deep breath. These recommendations will make a difference in your work. Finally, I congratulate you for reaching the end and I thank you for trusting me as your guide. Remember that this is one of the thousand ways to paint and that nothing is wrong w...”
