About the final project for: Introduction to Screen Printing for Illustration

Introduction to Screen Printing for Illustration

“Thank you for joining me and allowing me to share my story and process with you. As artists and printmakers, we’re always looking to create interesting drawings and printing. This could be challenging, but it’s an incredible adventure. I hope now you feel motivated to print a four-color screen print. For the course project, the possibilities are really endless. Choose a project that reflects your own personal vision and personality. Let me show you an example of what I expect to see from your project: The Drawing and the Colours First, choose the colours. Next, draw the image in layers ready for printing.

The Stencils Use Photoshop to create stencils for each layer. Remember to separate the colours in each layer.
The Printing Get the materials you need for printing ready and expose your screen. After that, start printing your first colour and the remaining ones to complete the image. Finally, name and edition your very own screen print.
Be sure to inject your own sense of style and self into everything you do. Once everything is ready, share your project in the forum! I will be giving you feedback as soon as I can, but please be patient, it could take a while. Meanwhile, I encourage you to look at what your fellows are doing and give them feedback. In the end, we always learn a lot from each other. So, I strongly encourage you to be active in the forum and help others as they’ll help you. I can’t wait to see your project! See you soon.”

We looked at colour inspiration and I showed you how to draw for screen printing, but remember you don't have to use my long-winded technique for drawing. Just end up with some layers. Then we moved on to Photoshop to create our stencils. Then we looked a...”
