Learn manual engraving and printing techniques to create one-of-a kind spaces

A course by Pablo Salvaje

A gouge is a thin, half-round cutting tool used by carpenters and other craftsmen to carve curved surfaces. This is the dictionary definition, but for Pablo Salvaje it is so much more than that. For him, a gouge is an extension of his own hand that has allowed him to create some of his best pieces and travel the world doing what he loves.

In this course, this versatile artist from Seville accompanies you in the process of creating an art installation using relief engraving and stamping to create a mural for the space of your choice.

This is Pablo's second Domestika course, following Engraving Stamps and Printing Techniques, which can be taken as a complement to this course.

As for materials, you need a set of gouges with different tips, a carving surface (wood or rubber), a smooth wall, or a large surface for your mural, ink and acrylic paint, a paintbrush, pencil, tracing paper, stamping paper, a roller, silicone, nails, hammer, and a cutting tool or saw.

Finally, you need materials from home or from nature from which you can extract textures: shells, snails, sea urchins, dried flowers, or even avocado skin.
