Instagram Videos: Capture Your Creative Process

“Congratulations! You have reached the end of this Domestika course. Being your teacher has been a wonderful and exciting experience. I hope you've had as much fun as I did with this course. I also hope that this course has shown you the power of reels and how to use them to grow your online audience. It's now time to work on your project. This could mean finishing the concept you started by completing the exercises or making a brand new project! Either way, I strongly suggest you take the time to gather inspiration and make a unique project of your own. I want you to be original and creative. In your videos, I'd like to see your own interpretation of storytelling. Make sure to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. It'd be great if you could also explain the choices you've made along the way and tell us if you have any doubts. This will help me understand your creative process and guide you better if you need advice. Here are the main steps to follow: Defining Your Aesthetic Finding your niche and uploading consistently are two of the best strategies to go viral on Instagram Reels. There are a lot of Instagram users who have a diverse set of interests and hobbies. Whatever you do, there is a niche for you! Don't expect to have the perfect resources and equipment to make your video. Start now with what you have. Find the aesthetic that will characterize your posts. How will you become recognizable to your followers? What kind of things should they expect from you? Allow this goal to direct your color choices, your narratives, and the style of your shots. The Mood Board Gather inspiration for your artwork. This will form the visual direction of your piece. Include images related to color palettes, artistic styles, subject matter, brushstrokes, etc. Although I prefer a limited color palette, it's critical that you pick one that best suits your unique style. Experiment, have a lot of fun, and be creative!

The Props Make a thorough selection of the objects that best fit your story. Arrange them so that the main topic is the first thing the spectator sees by placing it in one of the intersections and then placing the rest of the images around it to lead the eye.
Filming Before starting your recording, pay close attention to the setup of your camera. My recommendations are 1080p HD or 4K at 30 fps. And I’ll never tire of repeating the most essential advice: be sure that your battery is fully charged! Nothing can frustrate you more than a dead battery in the middle of filming (which you probably will realize too late). Allow the recording to flow and be receptive to what the universe has in store. You will accomplish what you need to achieve if you participated in the planning process. If problems arise, be willing to work through them without opposition. Don't forget that the best time for shooting is in the morning or afternoon. This way you'll get diffused natural light and avoid harsh shadows. If the shadows remain too intense, use a reflector.
Editing When editing, watch the video several times to see if it’s fluid and if the images are connected to the track at the right times. Remember, the bottom fifth of a reel is where the video caption is displayed. If at all possible, keep the important graphic components out of this section. Tip: Instagram’s algorithm deprioritizes content that is visibly recycled from other apps (such as TikTok), as well as low-quality media content. Including three to five hashtags can be a great way to help the Instagram algorithm understand your content and serve it to relevant audiences. Using your niche hashtags will indicate to the Instagram Reels algorithm what your content is about — which may increase the likelihood of it being served to users who are actively engaging with similar content. Even though I've outlined many principles and tips, keep in mind that rules are supposed to be broken. I want you to try new things. Don't be afraid to go crazy! Who knows, maybe you'll start the next big trend or discover a creative style that others adore. Okay, one last time, I'll repeat it: generate a lot of material and don't stop. The secret to social media success is consistency. Feel free to send me messages in the forum, since I enjoy engaging with you. I promise that I will do my best to respond to as many questions as possible. You can also see and comment on what the other students are doing. We have a lot to learn from one another. It's been a pleasure guiding you through this process and sharing my vision of producing engaging videos with you. So, once your project is ready, click "Create your project" and upload it. I can't wait to see what you've come up with! See you in the forum!”
