About the final project for: Creating Animated Patterns from Ink Sketches

Creating Animated Patterns from Ink Sketches

“Thank you so much for taking this Domestika course with me. It's your turn to animate a colorful composition of patterns using Photoshop and After Effects. Before leaving you alone with your imagination, I give you an example of what I would like to see in your presentation: Research and the mood board Gather your archive of personal images: animals, vegetation, objects, architecture. Create your mood board to put all its scattered elements on the same level and create image associations.

The graphic universe Draw your scene ideas as moving patterns. Prioritize the quantity, take the time to push your imagination. Then, define your limited color palette to build your graphic universe. Finally, select the scene that will serve as the starting point for your lesson project.
The storyboard Build your storyboard in six steps to create a looping narrative (start > middle > end = start)
The animatic Prepare in Photoshop the faux-fixes necessary for your animation. Import your faux-fixes into After Effects and move them schematically in time and space to create your animatics. Import your animatic into Photoshop as a reference, and animate your sequences one after the other.
Composting Import your animations into After Effects and integrate them one by one to start your compositing. Adjust the overall pacing and interactions between different graphical elements in your project's After Effects composition.
Animation Duplicate your animation to create the final pattern for your animation. Finalize your colors: think about your contrasts, add textures and lights. Conceptualize your ideal soundtrack and find a musical collaborator to realize it. Integrate your soundtrack into After Effects and export your project in MP4 format. Transfer your animation to your phone and post it to your social networks.
Don't forget that I shared my method with you, but nothing is sacred. It's up to you to appropriate the tools that I present to you for your benefit. I'm curious to see how you use Photoshop and After Effects to create your animations! Share your project on the forum. To do this, click on the “Create your project” button. I can't wait to see your creations! I will look at your publications as soon as possible and answer your questions and need clarification. In the meantime, I encourage you to watch what your comrades have been up to and comment on their posts. Collaboration is at the heart of the profession of animation director! See you soon !”
