About the video: Prepare the tissues and make the puzzle
Overview
“In this lesson we will analyze the sketch and each of its pieces and we will draw it again on a grid. This will help you measure each piece and know what its size will be in real scale. I will explain some details that must be taken into account as the seam centimeter, but you will also see that nothing happens if we do not calculate well and we have to improvise on the fly. Then we will see how to cut the tissue trying to waste as little as possible.”
In this video lesson Zita Chocarro Iriarte addresses the topic: Prepare the tissues and make the puzzle, which is part of the Domestika online course: Introduction to Contemporary Patchwork. Combine and upcycle fabrics to create unique textile pieces.

“Once we have our sketch finished and after reviewing the basics of Patchwork. we will start preparing our pieces carefully. It’s important for you to know that it's perfectly fine if you make a small mistake along the way. The most serious consequence is that you might need to add or trim a tiny section of fabric here or there. Unless we're aiming for extremely precise dimensions. our design should function perfectly fine. I have created several downloadable templates featuring these grids to assist your process; however. feel free to utilize any standard graph paper from notebooks as well....”
