About the final project for: Fashion Photography for Beginners: From Concept to Camera

Fashion Photography for Beginners: From Concept to Camera

“We have reached the end of the course. Thank you so much for joining me! I hope you enjoyed it and also feel more confident to work with a camera and do your own photoshoots. It's important that you think about what you want to express in your pictures, experiment, try out new techniques, be creative — eventually you'll find your own style. I'd like to sum up the most essential steps you have to take in order to organize your fashion editorial photoshoot for the project. And remember: you should create your own unique concept and avoid copying others. So start creating a concept for your photoshoot and put a mood board together! Organise your shoot, find a model to photograph, a location, and if possible other team members as well. Do your photoshoot: analyse the ambient light you have, and try to work around it or modify it if it’s necessary. Find the best camera settings.

Work with your model, suggest different poses as a start, direct him/her, try to make him/her feel comfortable in front of your camera for a better result. Shoot at least two different outfits, if possible with different backgrounds, and do portrait and full length shots as well.
Last, select your favourite images and do some postproduction as a finish to your final project.
Don't forget to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. Share these pictures and your final edited photo selection in the forum. You can do so by clicking on "Create your project". Feel free to help other students in this course and comment on each other's work, so we can learn from each other's experiences. I'll be reviewing your work too, and I'll give you feedback as often as I can. I can't wait to see your project!”

“ Final Project Thanks for taking this course. I hope you enjoyed it and found it useful. Now, it's your turn to do your photoshoot. I'd like you to organise your own photoshoot and as a final project, I want you to submit two to ten images. As a reminder, let's go through a few things we talked about in this course. The most important thing is to find your own aesthetic and visual style, which means keep on taking pictures, experimenting with different things, and think about what you truly care about. That will be the main inspiration for your shoot. In terms of creating a concept for you...”
