“Basic gouache: outline and hair In this lesson, we will see the basic fundamentals of gouache and how to get the best out of the technique. Gouache, like all techniques, takes a bit of practice. To achieve a good result, we must apply the paint, neither too thick nor too watery. I always use natural hair brushes because they absorb paint much better. and they glide much better across the paper. I start to color the illustration by the lighter colors and progressively I go towards the darkest. Since I use small amounts of gouache, I usually use a simple sheet of paper as a palette.
