“ Street I'll draw this area here on the left of the building, and this, as you turn the corner to the right, with this pencil which is green gold. It's a yellow ochre pencil colour. It's also a great colour for adding warmth to scenes. I use it a lot. I'll start adding some of this into these areas. It's a different way of approaching it, but we're doing what we did in the last lesson. We're adding in blocks of colour rather than heavier lines. These get more fun, the more they start to come to life. This bit on the bottom of the left-hand building is paler, so I'll go up to that line ther...”

Illustrator Zoë Barker has loved drawing from a young age. After studying fine art at Kingston University, she decided to pursue a career in illustration, working across editorial, advertising, and publishing. She took a break in 2011 to focus on personal projects and rediscover her love for the art form.
This period of reflection led her to realize the importance of keeping a sketchbook and finding joy in creating something that nobody else might ever see. For her, drawing can be an exploration and a form of therapy, as well as a hobby. Over a career spanning 15 years, taking her from London to Norwich, she has illustrated for clients like Harrods, Cartier, Liberty of London, and The Telegraph. She also illustrated the children’s book Feast Your Eyes On Food and showcases her work on her website and social media.
