What's included in this course?
Start the course with a brief introduction from Germán Rodríguez, who talks about his journey as a designer and passion for letters. He shares a few of the likes, motivations, and influences that inspire his work.
Begin by studying the characteristics of lettering, calligraphy, and typography. Then learn all about logos, monograms, and badges, how they've evolved, and their importance in brand communication.
Do a mind-mapping exercise complete with an inspirational mood board. Move on to sketch your monogram by exploring two techniques for structuring letters, one with a brush and the other using a grid, before digitizing it in Illustrator.
Once your logo is ready, sketch initial ideas for your badge including all the necessary elements and then vectorize it. Make sure you clearly define the composition, color scheme, and typefaces. Next, Germán gives you a few tips for enriching your final artwork.
With your finished emblem, your teacher shows you how to create mock-ups and assemblies to apply to your personal brand or that of your business through different products and mediums. Prepare to showcase yourself to the world!

This was a great course. German is a great teacher, and he offered many tips and presented the instruction in a very easy to follow way. I am very new to Adobe Illustrator, and I was able to keep up for the most part, but, more importantly, I think I learned some new techniques that I'll be able to use in the future. The subject matter is a lot of fun, and I highly recommend the course.
