Begin the course by getting to know Demi, creator of Demi Macramé & Designs, and your teacher for this course. She shares the creative journey that led her to the world of macramé. Hear about her influences and her sources of inspiration.

Get an overview of the materials needed to create your macramé wall planter, from the yarn to the different tools. Demi then covers the basics of dyeing various types of materials and how to create a gradient or ombré string. Learn how to make the clove hitch knot before deciding on the shape and color.

With your design in mind, sketch out what you want your wall planter to look like. Demi demonstrates how to create a macramé blueprint to help guide each step, as well as how to measure how much string you need. Then it’s time to dye your string and create transitional color gradients and ombrés. Once your string is ready, Demi guides you through knotting the base of the wall planter and giving it shape.

See how to finish your wall planter by trimming the sides, fluffing the piece up, and adding your plant. Wrap up the course by hearing Demi’s tips on how to maintain the piece over time.
