“Brainstorming In this lesson I am going to show you my creative process. I will also show you what my ideas are like and then make the illustrations. For this we are going to make an emotional map in which we will write the concepts that will serve us for the ideas of the illustrations. Noemí Villamuza
A course by Noemí Villamuza
Illustrator Noemí Villamuza was born in Palencia, Spain, and has been living in Barcelona since 1998, the same year she published her first children's book. She studied fine arts with a major in graphic design, but she found her true calling in illustration. She has released numerous children's and young adult books with publishers like Kalandraka, Kókinos, Media Vaca, and Nórdica, and has created illustrations for graphic novels as well as press and advertising content.
She was a finalist for Spain's National Illustration Award in 2002 and won a Junceda award for illustration in 2007, as well as an award for the IBBY poster for the 2010 International Children's Book Day. When she's not creating, she shares her knowledge by teaching illustration classes at institutions across Barcelona, like the Escola de la Dona, Escola Bau, and Escola Massana, and by running workshops at schools, libraries, and cultural centers.
