“Background-Object Relationship Now we’ll do two things. First, we’ll create a sharper contrast by adding a much more intense area to the shadow. Just as we have maximum highlights, we’ll create maximum shade. We’ll also retrace these outlines, as we did with the slice of toast, respecting the decision we’ve made. Even if we see different nuances, we’ll have reds to our left and greens to our right. We’ll use the purple mentioned earlier for the maximum shade.
