A space that you love is one that you'll want to return to over and over again. The design plays a very important role in this effect, something that Ana Hernández, creative director of the Valencian studio of interior design Masquespacio, knows very well. In this course she will teach you her process for creating a restaurant, everything from the preliminary market research to the distribution of tables and chairs.
You will learn what a lovemark or cult brand is and the factors that define it, applying these elements to your restaurant's design.

You will start by getting to know Ana, take a look around her workspace and see her projects, as well as hear about the obstacles she has faced in the last 8 years. You will also discover the interior design, fashion and art from other disciplines that influence the work of Masquespacio.
You will learn about the concept of a lovemark or cult brand, and how it has been gaining momentum in recent years thanks to social media. You'll define the factors that boost lovemarks in the restaurant business, and then apply them to your design.
Before designing a restaurant, you need to understand your clients. You will learn to position your restaurant for specific consumers in order to differentiate yourself from the competition.
Once you have defined your creative concept, you will learn how to use the space in your restaurant and choose the right furniture for the main areas. Then explore different bar options and their elements as well.
Using her Kaikayu project as an example, Ana will walk you through designing your own restaurant.
You will design a 100 square meter restaurant following Masquespacio's methodology.

Designers, creatives and anyone interested in or curious about the design of commercial spaces.
You will need to have design knowledge or, at least, a passion for it. Ana and her team will use Photoshop to design the layout of their restaurant, but you can do it in whatever way is most convenient for you.

I found the design prep lessons very valuable, especially regarding moodboards and client management. However, I wish there was more on restaurant design. Bar layout aside, other areas felt rushed and superficial. I wanted more specific details and measurements for kitchens and dining areas. It’s a great course for students and enthusiasts, but I feel it’s a bit too basic for professionals.
Me parece un curso bastante interesante, hay que adaptar todo a las necesidades y reglamentación de cada zona, te da un panorama perfecto del paso a paso para diseñar espacios adecuados a las necesidades de cada cliente
