Digital Illustration Techniques: Find Your Personal Style
“Hi! We have reached the end of the course. For those of you who have come this far, my huge thanks. Before saying goodbye, I would like to share some important tips, not only for the final project, but for your future illustrations: • Do research in magazines and newspapers and select images that you believe might be useful in creating an interesting composition for your final project. • Based on the selected images, produce sketches using the thumbnail process taught in the course, adding new ideas with freehand drawing. • Transfer these sketches to Photoshop and decrease the opacity of the image creating a new layer to finish the illustration. • Create new strokes following the sketch that is at low opacity, modifying some details if necessary. That way, you will find new solutions to make your illustration more defined. • After the illustration is finished with the stroke, discard the thumbnail, leaving the illustration in the foreground and continue applying the colors that you think are most appropriate. Here are the steps I showed during the classes. You can present these same steps in your final project: Thumbnails
