Artistic Architectural Photography: Form, Color, and Space
“We have now come to the end of the course. I want to thank you for your time and hope I was able to share my passion for architectural photography with you. Most of all, I hope you had fun! Now it's time for you to create and present your own urban photo series. I have summarized the most important steps as generally as possible. Find a location Walk around the city with your eyes wide open to find interesting corners to photograph. Don't just look at landmarks or special buildings - often ordinary buildings and residential areas offer exciting and unexpected elements and perspectives. Alternatively, you can research a place that interests you beforehand. In any case, visit your selected location at different times of the day and observe how it changes. Search for a model To create a visual connection between people and buildings, find a model for your photo shoot (you can of course ask your family and friends about it first). Keep in mind that this is not a portrait, but rather the inclusion of the people in the composition. Photograph the subject Before you start taking photos, first observe the area and assess the lighting conditions, interesting corners and possible disruptive factors. Shoot from the big to the small: first from a distance and then details, shadow plays, textures and interesting compositions. Think about where and how the model could enhance the scenery and express stronger emotions, and above all, try different perspectives!
