Drawing from Real Life: Learn to Observe Reality
A course by Thomas Cian , Illustrator

Learn to draw the world around you and discover the techniques to recreate what you see while respecting reality and proportions
To create a faithful reproduction of the world around you, you can't just simply look at it, you need to train your eyes and your mind, and learn to see what's really there. Through careful observation alone, you can recreate any person, place, or thing with accurate proportions. This, however, requires a foundation of drawing theory and technique–you must first know the rules in order to break them and find your own style.
In this course, illustrator Thomas Cian, who has worked for companies like Nike, ProPublica, and Moto Guzzi, teaches you how to observe reality to create realistic drawings. Practice with a series of exercises to understand the concept of visual perception and learn how to change your point of view to accurately recreate the world around you with a personal touch.

A course by Thomas Cian
Thomas Cian is an illustrator who was born into a creative environment: his father was an architect and his mother an artist. As a child, he was always drawing, which prompted his decision to attend an arts’ lyceum and then study at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. After graduating, he began publishing his work online, which was well-received on websites like This Is Colossal and Juxtapoz, earning him recognition for his talent.
His success grew exponentially as he received more and more work, eventually collaborating with major brands like Nike, Disney, ProPublica, and Moto Guzzi. He currently teaches illustration, runs workshops, and has displayed his work in collective exhibitions around Italy as well as abroad.
