In the beginning, I didn't take it seriously. I posted everything, pictures taken with a phone, pictures taken with a camera, and some selfies, but with time, I started curating my work and posting only the best pictures on my profile. Alina Rudya is a Berlin-based lifestyle and travel photographer from Ukraine. She wanted to be a photographer from the age of nine after her father bought her a National Geographic magazine from the US. She completed an MA in political science and another in journalism, before going on to study photography at Lette-Verein School of Design and the University of Arts Berlin. She later began posting her work on Instagram alongside working on shoots for newspapers and magazines. After growing a following, she started attracting clients and eventually flying drones in 2017.
Since then, Alina has published several books including a monograph Prypyat Mon Amour, which was published worldwide. She also founded Bell Collective – a group of female creators that aims to break stereotypes around female travel and creative choices. Alina has worked with clients including Samsung, Nikon, Mercedes-Benz, and OPPO Mobile, and her drone shots have also been published in books like Accidentally Wes Anderson.
