About the video: Sources of inspiration

Overview

“My two main sources of inspiration are nature and everyday life. With my work I try to pay homage to the beauty around me. I don't take inspiration from artists or techniques, I let myself be inspired more than anything else by images, shapes and geometries. These inspirations range from Wunderkammern to Japanese culture, to artists met right here on Domestika. ”

In this video lesson Giulia Bernardelli addresses the topic: Sources of inspiration, which is part of the Domestika online course: Creative Flat Lay Compositions for Social Media. Tell a story through images by creating colorful compositions with natural elements, memories and everyday objects to create impactful content for your social media .

She spent many years working in educational and outreach programs for different museums, and later in the bookshop at the Ducal Palace in Mantua. This job gave her time to rediscover drawing and create an Instagram profile to share her work online. Thanks to this platform, she began to earn recognition and eventually her first commissions; since then, she has worked for major companies including Pirelli, The Washington Post, Barilla, and Bombay Sapphire.
