About the final project for: Designing Immersive Art Installations for Events

Designing Immersive Art Installations for Events

“Thank you for joining me and allowing me to share my story and process with you. I hope this course has helped you transform your creative inspiration into a concrete design. For the course project, the possibilities are really endless. Choose a project that reflects your own personal style and personality. Let me show you an example of what I expect to see from your project: The Mood Board Gather inspiration and create a mood board for the color palette, materials, and overall creative direction of your design.

The Design Design your installation, first rough sketching by hand and then creating a digital rendering using Procreate and Adobe Illustrator.
The Installation First, create a material list and source your materials. Next, fabricate the wooden framework of your installation.
The Project Lastly, paint your backdrop and add in any textural design embellishments such as florals, fiber, or any material of your choice to finish up your final project.
While making your project, don’t be afraid to try new things! Get creative. I encourage you to take things to the next level. Think about incorporating more interactive elements, three-dimensional designs, in a few words: think outside the box with your material choices! Once everything is ready, share your project in the forum! I will be giving you feedback as soon as I can, but please be patient, it could take a while. Meanwhile, I encourage you to look at what your fellows are doing and give them feedback. In the end, we always learn a lot from each other. I can’t wait to see your project! See you soon. ”

Also, when sketching your design, remember to keep the space you're designing within and the client's needs at top of mind. When you start assembli...”

Installation Artist

Tiffany Lusteg is an installation artist from California. When graduating from college, she discovered an interest in weaving and fiber art, which led her to start sharing her work online and host weaving workshops. When she and her husband Aaron got married in 2017, she decided to make a large-scale tapestry for their wedding backdrop, which kick-started her career in art installation. Tiffany soon began receiving requests for backdrops from clients and, with the help of Aaron’s woodworking skills, founded the spatial design and fabrication business, Fomme.

Tiffany has worked on installations for corporate clients, events, and hotels and had her personal artwork exhibited in galleries. Her client list includes The Ritz-Carlton, NBCUniversal, as well as The Hilton and Marriott Hotels. She also shares her work with over 30K followers on Instagram and, more recently, has begun experimenting with sculpture.
