This part, together with pattern transfer, are the things that I need to do before starting to embroider, and that I hate, but if I don't do them with love, nothing else will work. Gimena Romero was born in Mexico City in 1985 and lives between her hometown and Barcelona. She graduated in visual and plastic arts from the National School of Painting, Sculpture, and Engraving, 'La Esmeralda' of the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA), and attended the École Nationale des Beaux Arts in Lyon (France).
She has won several international awards. She began her career in the world of haute couture embroidery in Lesage (Paris) and in 2014 she began working as a guild apprentice of gold thread embroidery in Seville. Her work has been exhibited in locations around the world.
She has also collaborated on published works of fiction, poetry, and textile research with Thule Ediciones and Editorial Gustavo Gili. Her book 'Hebra de Agua' was selected as Book of the Year in 2016 at the 'Teixim la Ciutat' Festival held in Sant Cugat in Catalonia (Spain).
