Since I was little I have been able to travel to various corners of Mexico and textiles always caught my attention. For example, these curtains are heavily influenced for the geometric patterns that are used in the hipiles. This other textile that I captured in Colombia inspired this piece I made for Nudalia, where I applied henequen in a loom-like manner, as in this tapestry. I grew up seeing Rarámuri basketry in different parts of Chihuahua, which has also influenced my work for the geometric pattern...”
