Animation for Typographic Logo Designs

“Thank you so much for joining me in this Domestika course. I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have and I can't wait to see your animations! Before I go, let´s review the steps you need to take to create your final project: To build a great project for this course, remember that you can work from one of the three briefs that I gave you: Good Vibes, Roma and Start! Choose the one that motivates you and build a strong and relevant concept that is going to be the foundation of your design work. You can also make up your own brand name and brief to work on something more personal if you feel so! You need to take your time and enjoy the sketching phase of the project. Making quick sketches is going to help you to visualize a lot of different options from the given brand name to work with. Don’t overthink. Just sketch a lot!

In the animation phase you should find a motion behaviour that adds to the meaning of the logotype. Don’t animate for the sake of it! And remember to experiment and have fun! After vectorizing your motion logo (remember to export one frame from the After Effects timeline that looks great), start playing with it and make your own colour palette and design examples. Go crazy and create a lot of pieces that could work together as a great branding project.
Make the final exercise of building a presentation. This should never be underestimated because explaining your work to the client is key to a successful design career!
Make a motion logo that feels that fits well both the needs from the brief and also your aesthetics. Just put everything that you would love to see out there.
I'll try to drop by as often as I can to answer any questions, but please bear with me, since I might be busy with my own projects. Please remember to join us in the forum to just say hi, share your thoughts, provide feedback to other students, etc. Your contribution is surely going to add to our community. Thank you and see you in the forum! ”

“Final Project First, I want to say, thank you for taking this Domestika course. I hope that you learned some new techniques and above all, you feel that motion designing is no longer unfamiliar to you. For you to create a great project for this course, remember you have three different options as a brief. “Roma”, “Start!”, and “Good Vibes”. Choose the one that motivates you the most and enjoy the process. All the steps of the design process are very important but I tend to think, that the initial phases when you are searching for a concept or sketching are the ones that will sustain your pr...”
