“Principles of Photography and Compositional Techniques The next composition technique is rhythm. Rhythm is something that happens very naturally in the city and you'll find it a bit everywhere. There are three ways you can use rhythm in the composition, and the first way is through repetition. What you can see here is we have the repeating elements of the lamps in the facade, so they're providing a visual tempo in the image, and by using a diagonal perspective, so a Leading line, complementing it with the repetition of the lamps, and it's guiding us from right to left or left to right.
