About the final project for: Character Creation for Illustrated Books with Watercolor

Character Creation for Illustrated Books with Watercolor

“I welcome you to the "Final Project" section. I would like this to become an opportunity to give vent to your imagination and fantasy. Now I show you how to present your final project, so that the whole world appreciates your progress and every detail of your creative process. First choose one of the three characters to develop: 1. Fox doing office work. He wants to get a promotion at all costs but is awfully clumsy and messes up a lot. 2. Burglar raccoon. He hates clutter and dirt, sneaks into homes at night to clean and tidy up. 3. Postman cat. She is presbyopic so she always gets the delivery address wrong and runs from one city to another to deliver the letters to the right addressee.

It always starts from the study of the character, from the sketches of the face and body. Then he continues with the movements, draws freely without paying too much attention to the description contained in the briefs, in this phase the important thing is to understand the way his body moves.
Before moving on to the final drawing, choose 4 actions that your character can perform in the environment in which it is inserted and put the drawing on watercolor paper.
Now it's time for color, you can do digital or traditional tests to understand how you want to color your character. I advise you to do a lot of tests at the beginning, especially if you are not very familiar with watercolor. Then you can move on to the final color.
Scan your work and do the finishing touches with Photoshop to be able to share it on the forum or on social networks.
I recommend, involve the other people who have taken the course, commenting constructively on their work. I will try to give you some feedback too, but I ask you to be patient if I am not very present or if it will take a while before I can do it. Thanks again for choosing this course and good luck with all your projects! ”

“Final Project We have reached the end of this course, but actually, your work starts right here. It’s now time to start thinking about our final project and constructing your character. As I have already mentioned during the lessons, I’ve thought of three different characters that you can make based on your knowledge and experience with illustration. The first character, of course, is our fox, the same one that we created together, step by step, during the lessons of this course. This is a very suitable project for beginners. Try to be original and add some personality in the expressions an...”
