About the final project for: Interior Design: Create a Concept Statement

Interior Design: Create a Concept Statement

“You have reached the end of the course. Now you know all the steps to find the concept for your interior design projects. Remember that creativity lives within you and that you are capable of finding with your own eyes the most interesting things in the world around you, and all you have to do is learn to consciously observe. In this way you will make your creative spring bigger and bigger. As a project of the course you will have to develop a conceptual presentation for a project from scratch. You can work on a project for a client, a personal project or you can invent a client. In my case, I developed a project with a family in a house in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. Before we sign off, let me show you an example of how I would like to see your process: The place and the interview To start, interview your client. Try to get the information you consider relevant. If possible, go around the site and take different photos of the spots that inspire you.

Inspiration Search your personal libraries for inspiration to make the project. Look at the colors, texture, shapes and more. When you finish the choice, put the photos on a mood board.
Colors and materials Choose the color palette and the materials you will use. Do different tests until you are satisfied with the combination of colors and materials. I recommend getting your color palette based on the mood board you created earlier.
The furniture Search and choose furniture for your project. If you prefer, you can make some sketches to land your ideas and, later, look for furniture that is similar.
The presentation Finally, put all the sheets together in a presentation to show your client. Take care of the details and give the project a proper name. Let your creativity flow! In the unit "How to present the project?" I have shared mine, in case it inspires you.
Thank you for letting me share with you this space and moment of creation. I hope you can take advantage of them and get the most out of this course to create amazing places. I'll be waiting to see your work, don't forget to upload it to the forum by clicking on "Create your project". I will give you feedback as soon as possible, but I ask you to be patient, as I may take a while to reply due to my professional commitments. While you wait, take the opportunity to see the work of your colleagues and share tips and ideas with them. Until next time!”
