“The creation of the branch structure This lesson is very important as we'll create the base of the wreath. It is like tracing the outline of a drawing before coloring it. I chose willow branches, about 1,60 m long, and dried. To get the elasticity of these branches, I let them soak for about a week in the bathtub. Three days might also be enough. If you don't have a bathtub, you can use plastic tubes, and you can buy them from any DIY store. I suggest you moisturize them with lukewarm water, which you can change every morning. A course by Roberta Santilli
Roberta Santilli is an artist who works primarily with flowers. She was born in Bergamo where she currently lives and works, and it was her father from whom she inherited her passion for nature, and above all, plants. After receiving a degree in Building Engineering and Architecture, she started work as an interior designer specializing in the design of custom furniture. In 2016, she decided to take a basic course on floristry and, later that same year, she opened her own florists. Later, she started her Instagram account in order to share her colorful compositions with her followers.
Thanks to this virtual display window she began to receive more and more orders as well as commissions for events and weddings. From this moment on, she has dedicated herself to the creation of pieces, most of them wreaths, using dried flowers. In 2018, she transferred 100% of her business online and has been working from her home studio since 2019.
She currently makes compositions for events and wedding decorations for with a very clear style and message, having moved completely away from the use of fresh cut flowers to specializing in ethical and environmentally responsible projects using only dried flowers as well as seasonal fruit and vegetables.
