“The drawing I just finished all my birds in white. Now I have a clear view of my main characters and what I leave and what I cover, and the contrasts that result from this composition. Now I'm going to take a look at colors. As things seem to be, I'm going to go on something blue for the aquatic side and maybe something in Siena for the mineral side. And since I have a sun, I might go and do something more yellow. I always start with blue, since I know my gouache colors well. I start to pose my forms this way. I don't hesitate to cut out my image with strong rectangular tools, like this one...”
