About the final project for: Character Creation for Illustrated Stories

Character Creation for Illustrated Stories

“Thank you for joining me in this course and for creating with me a character for an illustrated story. I hope you have learned a lot and found inspiration to create hundreds of new characters and stories and worlds for them. Next, we are going to review the key phases of the project. It would be great if you showed me a picture of each phase and added a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. Do not stay only with the example that I have worked during the course, remember that your project is unique and original. Definition of the characters I began to give life to my character from sketches and defining it with words that help to understand it. To do this, I drew up a list of characteristics about it.

Relationship of the character with the environment With small sketches, I built for my character a place of her own, a context. As we saw in Unit 2, I was helped by brainstorming.
Sketches Once the scene is clear, it is very useful to draw some sketches of both the characters and the space they will inhabit. This is a great time to experiment with perspectives and different elements.
Clean sketch With everything prepared, it is time to make the clean sketch of the final illustration. I recommend you start with the guidelines and then continue drawing until you identify the different movements of your characters.
Coloring and final details Finally, I applied color to my illustration and worked the details to give it the finish that I considered best. In the lesson "Final Illustration" of Unit 3 I showed you my whole process.
Final result This is how my finished illustration has been, I hope it has served to inspire you when creating your own.
Now share your final project with all of us by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result of your illustrated scene and the steps that have led you to it. I am looking forward to seeing your project! Before saying goodbye, I invite you to write to me on the forum and tell me how you thought the course was, to show me your progress and resolve your doubts. I will always be attentive to answer your questions. I also want to encourage you to actively participate in the forum by giving advice and trying to help the rest of the community. See you on the forum! ”
