Next, make lots of informal drawings informed by your mood board until you’re happy with your design! Remember to keep your sketches original and avoid tracing or copying, your own personal style is your most valuable asset!

After this, back your design with double-sided tape, stick it to your brass sheet and pierce it out using your piercing saw. Remember you might want to photocopy or trace your final design just in case anything goes wrong when you’re cutting it out! You’ll then want to clean up your brass using needle files and emery paper and polish with a cloth. If you’d like to solder rather than glue then you might have to do a bit more polishing after that process too. Next, add your findings, this could be either with epoxy glue or soldering depending on your comfort level. Remember we are making a pin in my case but with just the changing of a few findings and drilling of a few holes, you can turn a pin into a necklace into an earring!
