Have only completed the first unit, but I like what Courtney offers and I believe her up-to-date approaches and knowledge are going to really help me grow as a writer. I am not American, nor do I know the American market, but there are universal values and methods that apply anywhere.

This course is super helpful for writing a memoir or any other kind of personal work. It offers concrete tips on honing your writing process, voice, and structure. What I found especially useful was the unit about balancing personal vs. universal themes, so that the writing can make an emotional impact on the reader. Courtney organizes her course in a way that is easy to follow without being overwhelmed. She shares lots of resources for additional explorations. Great value!

I found the course worthwhile and would recommend it for beginning writers (which is what it is advertised as). As a scientist I write every day (140+ scientific papers published), but not in a creative writing style and I found the techniques presented in the class helpful in getting out of my "science writer" box.
