About the final project for: Interior Design Fundamentals: Mastering Color and Texture

Interior Design Fundamentals: Mastering Color and Texture

“We reached the end of the course. Hopefully, you are now ready to apply what you have learned to your interior design projects. Let's do a final overview of the process: Interview your client An essential part of a design project is making sure you know your client's needs, tastes, and preferences. Conduct a consulting session and gather as much information as possible about their style, the materials they like, and the kind of space they desire.

Based on this, create a mood board and choose a range of materials that you believe might fit with your client's concept.
Create a material board At this stage of the process, you should have a clearer and more defined idea of the direction your project should be going in. It is now time to create a material board that comprises the colors and textures of your concept and that conveys the overall mood of the space once it's been redesigned.
Finished Floor Plan Using a floor plan, indicate where your materials are going. This is a great way of having everything organized throughout the project. Always keep this handy to go back to it when needed.
Materials Follow the guidelines I provided to calculate the amount of every material you will need to complete your project. Then locate the materials you selected, taking notes on how to install, clean, and take care of them from the manufacturer's website.
Lastly, remember to keep a punch list for your project to keep everything documented and to be able to hand a copy to your client so that they can make sure everything is up to their standards. And that's it! I can't wait to see your own projects. Share them with the community by clicking on the "Create your project button". Also, I encourage you to be active in the forum and provide feedback to other classmates. There's no better way to grow as a professional than by giving and hearing other peers' opinions. If you have any questions, please post them in the forum and I'll do my best to answer them as soon as I can. Thank you and goodbye!”

But first, I will review the steps for you to complete your final project. First, I showed you the color wheel. and how it can be applicable to interiors. I carried colors into texture and broke down the various texture types. and how it not only has visual and acoustical effects, but how it affects human psychology.
