“Thumbnailing We're ready to start our illustration. In this lesson, we're going to go from ideas into drawings. To do that, first, I'll teach you a little bit about composition. Let's do it. THUMBNAILING I'm going to give you a few composition tools so that you can make very strong thumbnails that communicate your particular story in the best possible way. One of the tools is using the rule of thirds. For the rule of thirds, you divide the image with two vertical lines and two horizontal lines and you see where those lines meet. Juanita is a children’s book, editorial and commercial illustrator from Medellín, Colombia. She began her academic career studying fashion design at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, but after realizing her passion was in illustration, she went on to study animation concept art at the Vancouver Film School.
