Begin the course by getting to know Stanley. He talks through his career as a digital designer and developer and how he came to use design sprints as part of his creative process. Then discover the influences which inspire his work.

Learn what a design sprint is, when to use one, and the benefits it offers. Then explore the tools needed to run a successful design sprint, including the visual collaboration board Miro, timers, and Zoom. Discover how to set up a design sprint in detail, from understanding your client’s needs, to deconstructing a brief, and gathering a team.

Time to start your sprint! Stanley guides you through each day of your sprint and what it entails. Begin with the mapping stage. Understand the problem and goal, and discover opportunities for problem-solving before making a map to guide you through the rest of the sprint. Use sketching as a tool to develop a solid concept and foundation before voting on the best ones. On the penultimate day of your sprint, learn how to prototype your solution based on your outcomes from the previous three days before testing it on day five.

Explore how to interpret and share the results of your sprint. Gather feedback, create a discovery document for your client, and hear Stanley’s advice for sharing your findings and setting yourself up for future work opportunities.
