About the final project for: Design and Stitching of Crochet Socks

Design and Stitching of Crochet Socks

“We reached the end of the course. Before we say goodbye, we are going to review the key phases of the project. It would be great if you could show me an image of each phase of your project and add a brief explanation about what you have done in each one: Preparation First of all, you will have to prepare your bag of work for the project with all the materials and tools that you are going to use. Next, make one or more sock sketches to find the perfect idea. Next, draw the basic structure of your sock on a piece of paper. You can try to draw different textures or prints. Then, take measurements of the foot for which you are going to make the socks and express them where it corresponds in the drawing that you have made. Remember that in Unit 2 I left you general templates for a sock so that you can follow them.

* This specific example is the insole for size 38-39 (Spain) Finally, create a mood board to have inspiration and references throughout the creation process of your project. You can include the sketch that you have made with a sock drawing on the folio, reference socks, fabrics, whatever is most useful to you! Creation of the sock Using the pattern that I left you in the additional resources, crochet the front part of your basic sock.
Then, and continuing with the reference pattern, weave the heel of the sock.
Finally, the time for magic. As we saw in Unit 3, transform the 2D fabric into a 3D sock by making the invisible seam that I taught you in the lesson "Invisibile sewing: side and toe." You already have your first basic sock!
Customization With your basic sock finished, now you can take it to another level by customizing it to your liking. In Unit 4 I have taught you different techniques. Use one or more and fill your socks with magic and fantasy: play with colors, add phrases, a graphic ... everything you can think of!
You can make only one sock, but surely when you have made the first one you will not be able to stop and you will want to make several models playing with all the techniques you have learned during the course. I am looking forward to seeing your results!
Now share your final project with all of us by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result of your finished sock and the entire process you have followed to create it. As I mentioned a moment ago, if you have made more than one sock, it would be great if you share them too :). If you feel like it, throughout the course you can also share your progress on Instagram with the hashtag #AlimaravillasDomestika and #Revolusocks. I will be in the forum to help you with all your questions. I also want to invite you to actively participate there, both sharing your progress and giving advice and trying to help the rest of the community. It is sure to be very enriching for everyone! See you on the forum!”

“Final Pproject Now let's see a summary of what you've learned in this course. We started by talking about the materials and tools for crochet. Then I showed you a basic 2D sock structure. After that, I explained how to read a pattern and I helped you choose your sock size. Next, I showed you the stitches needed to make your sock, the front and back parts, where we learned two types of increases and two types of decreases, and the invisible seam, which turns it into a 3D structure. Then I showed you different customization techniques, as well as graphic designing graphics, initials, and phra...”
