About the final project for: Textile Design for Interiors

Textile Design for Interiors

“Now is your turn! You have the tools to launch yourself and with greater knowledge and criteria to cover with textile with greater ease and safety. You can improve, review or launch yourself on a personal level from your own home, or with clients you already have. I hope that the content of the course has been enriching but most importantly, that you have understood the concepts to the fullest throughout all the lessons. I have shared with you the basic knowledge to understand the textile world and thus be able to apply it. Hopefully in the near future in your personal and professional projects, you will already see the fabrics with another knowledge and curiosity! I am going to do a brief review of what I have learned and the steps that I have followed to do the project. First of all, always think about geolocation and the use that that space or spaces will have (where it is located, what orientation it has) and the dialogue and needs with your client will be fundamental.

We have started by sharing knowing the textile from scratch, first the fibers, their origins and classification. The rapport of a fabric either printed or jacquard. Weft and warp to be able to weave the fabrics that I will later choose for my spaces and according to their ligaments, the different qualities that you can find in any textile publisher or store. Once we have woven and / or stamped the fabric, we have seen what finishes they can have and learn more about what we read in their technical sheets. Knowing in depth the textiles you will be able to identify the ideal ones to decorate any corner of a house. I also delved into how different types of rugs that you can find in the market are made and designed and how to customize them either for a client or for yourself. As a textile designer, I have shared with you where the sources of inspiration that mark my beginning and that will end in a home come from and how I propose my mood board either for a textile collection or later how I enrich from my inspiration briefing to a complete moodboard for with plans, furniture and textiles as the final project.
To finish, we have made a foray into the fabrics that you may need if you have a contract project in hand and I have shared with you new fibers and textiles that exist in the market in a more sustainable way. From now on we will be able to continue solving doubts in our forum, I may not be able to answer you immediately, but I will follow up on what you have in hand. I hope you have fallen a little more in love with textiles and everything that surrounds it, whether you are minimalist, classic, a follower of trends or color, with different and harmonious textures, I will be happy to see them from NOW! So the time has come to close this part, but we stay in touch! Any questions you have, you can consult it in the Domestika forum and I hope you have enjoyed this course as much as I did. You will find your own style in interior design from the textile, taking risks without fear more and more. I will be looking forward to seeing what you create so I can comment on them with you. Much courage and as Gastón & Daniela said: EVERYTHING CHANGES A FABRIC See you soon! Chío León. ”

“Final project Hello, how nice that you have reached this final point and I hope that with everything learned in the course, the textile theme is now a tool that you know how to use, there is no fear, you can create stories, you can create experiences, you can start from any resource, of a piece of art, of a photo that you bring with you from a trip, of a color that you love. Everything can be a starting point where you tell your story. We have been knowing in depth the origin of the fibers, your type of ligaments, how are the constructions in a jacquard, the "pattern", the rapport, our colo...”
