Data Visualization and Information Design: Create a Visual Model
“We have finally reached the end of the course! We have explored the all-encompassing field of data visualization. I showed you how its storytelling potential. We have learnt how we can use visual variables to shape information and make a given topic understandable. I showed you to look for data and stories from reliable sources and create static data visualization overlaying different levels of information. I want to leave here a few key points from this course: If you want to explore this field and experiment with it, start with your interests and inclinations. If there is a subject that you are passionate about, look for relevant data. I have focused on CO2 emissions, but I also showed you examples of my previous work. The range of possible datasets and stories is so ample. It goes from the letters written by Vincent van Gogh to his brother, to population density, all the way to the very shape of our dreams. I would love to see how you use data visualization to share information on the topics that interest you! Always keep in mind the readers! Starting from a personal standpoint might be a great way to approach these projects. The goal, at all times, is to communicate with people. Ask for feedback. Because we are working for the readers, asking for feedback to improve our project is such a handy thing to do. You can use the forum both to ask for advice and to give advice to other coursemates. Find your voice. I showed you what inspires me, and I am eager to learn about what inspires you. Feel free to experiment and to look for your visual alphabet. I would love to see many different projects written in your visual language! I am an independent professional, and I work on different projects at the same time. If you have any questions or comments, I will do my best to get back to you as soon as I can. However, I encourage you to participate in the forum and engage in conversations with the rest of the community. Once you have your project ready, click on "Create a project" and submit your work. Remember to include the keystones of the whole process, not just the final result. I hope you have enjoyed the course! ”

As you have seen, data visualization is a very broad field that allows us to unveil many layers of information about urgent and relevant topics. It allows us to create visual alphabets to illustrate reality. And to present the data in a visually striking way. Easy to understand by our readers. Also, we can use data visualization in many platforms, from newspapers, magazines, articles, or books. Any topic can be analyzed in terms of data, and rendered in an illustration. always remember that you wil...”
