Partial transcription of the video
“ Creating Line Work for the Illustration In the previous lesson, you learned to create thumbnail drawings. Now, I'll teach you to create line art for your illustration. Let me go over the art supply you'll need for creating linework. First, you will need a B or HB pencil. They're light enough to be covered up by paint later but also dark enough for you to see. You might also need a ruler. They come in handy to create the correct perspective. Finally, you might need an eraser for erasing any mistakes. A course by Angela Pan
Angela Pan is a Chinese-Canadian artist based in Vancouver. She specializes in travel illustrations using acrylic markers and is inspired by the beauty in the world around her. Angela's love for recognizing the fleeting, often unnoticed, precious moments is what fuels her art. Her work has a recognizably colorful aesthetic with a focus on perspective, lighting, simple lines, and striking composition. Angela studied animation at Sheridan College in Ontario, Canada, where she learned the majority of the art fundamentals that made her the artist she is today. After graduating, she moved to Vancouver, and began a career in 2D and 3D animation, which she pursued for seven years.
However, with a strong desire to tell her own stories through her art and explore her potential, Angela left her job in 2020 and became a full-time, self-employed artist and content creator. Since then, she’s created products such as art books, comics, prints, and postcard sets, and has collaborated with the brand Mossery to produce art kits, planners, and sketchbooks. She also shares her passion and expertise through her YouTube channel.
