About the final project for: Vibrant Character Design with the Colors of Inclusivity

Vibrant Character Design with the Colors of Inclusivity

“Thank you for following my first course on Domestika. Now it is time for you to create your illustration taking into account all you have learned along the way. Share your project with the community by clicking on the "Create your project" button above. Here are the key stages of my project: Nourish your artistic references, go to museums, watch movies, read the news, travel, talk to people who are different from you, listen, observe the world around you. Create a mood board, put all the visuals you saw that you enjoyed, try to write on a sketchbook why you like those images it will help you to develop your style.

Start sketching ideas you have in mind, it’s important that you draw with a paper and a pen, so you don't get distracted and it will be a genuine experience.
The phase of searching, sketching before working with your computer is the most important, you create the base of your visual story. Using software requires technical knowledge but I think if you want your work to stand out you need to think before repeating a style you like. The story you put into your drawings makes it unique. Once you are happy with your final sketch, it's time to digitalize it.
Next comes the fun part: applying colors. As I mentioned in the course, I like to combine all kinds of colors. It's just a matter of finding the right balance.
If you want to bring fun and playfulness to your illustration, you can create different patterns that you can apply to your characters.
I encourage you to practise first at representing people and tell their story visually, ask them questions, be curious about their story: What do they do as a profession? What do they like to do in their spare time? How will you represent that information visually? Create your own assignments and enjoy the process, the more you do, the more you will improve and find a style that fits you. You can share your final project in your social media and use the hashtag #AureliaDurandDomestika. Thank you for listening to my class, I am thrilled to see what you will create. I will try to answer your questions in the forum, but please be patient if I take a while, since I might be working on my own projects. Don’t forget to explore, be curious, create unique art, listen to people’s story, understand that inclusivity matters everywhere in society so people feel included and to keep being creative to spread the good vibes. I count on you! Aurevoir. ”

Follow the lessons to create your own powerful artworks to change people's view of the world. I'd like you to be original and creative when uploading your final project. I would like to see all the steps of your creative process, starting with the sketch of your idea, and I also want to see the outline of your drawing, how you add color to it and the final touches. I explained how to define the personality of a character. I'd like to know what your characters convey with the...”
